One of the Best Books Ever Written: Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

I couldn’t wait to hear the tape of Don't's Sweat the Small Stuff and to this day I am so glad I did. Since then I have read the book again over the years to remind myself to stress less. As I was listening to the tape in my mind I kept saying to myself, “Wow, this guy really makes a lot of sense. What he is saying is so true, yet most people won’t see it without help.” Needless to say this book was an eye opener for me.

A few years back I bought an audio tape at a library sale.  The tape was for the book Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: and it’s all small stuff by Richard Carlson, PH.D.  The book had been pretty popular a year or so before and I wanted to know what all the fuss was about.  I couldn’t wait to hear the tape and to this day I am so glad I did.

Richard Carlson was not only an author but a psychotherapist, and an amazing motivational speaker.

The book is not a long drawn out book, in fact it is only 250 pages, and the print is quite large.  The book is full of little techniques to help you get over some of the small problems in life and to stress less while understanding people more and dealing with them more positively and effectively.  There are literally 100 suggestions on how to live your life better and how to stress less.

Unfortunately Richard Carlson, passed away in 2006 from a pulmonary embolism, but his words will forever stay alive as he was a wise and gentle man who saw life in a much nicer way than most.  Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff was on the best seller list for 2 years running and sold in over 135 different countries and it also spawned several other books including:  Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff at Work, Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff about Money, Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff in Love (which he co-authored with is wife), Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Teens, Don’t Worry Make Money, Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff with Your Family, and Creating Miracles Every Day.  In addition he also authored several other books and co-authored books with other well known authors such as Dr. Wayne erDryer.

The concepts in the book Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: and it’s all small stuff, are so simple to understand and so simple to incorporate in to your life, and it all makes so much sense.  It will enhance your life in no time flat if you embrace the concepts in this book.
